Welcome to Ms. Lockard’s Virtual Field Trip to the Auschwitz Death Camp in Oświęcim, Poland.
Purpose: For you to learn more specifically about the operations of the camp, daily life, and the horrors that occurred there to better help you understand what the writers, who we are reading in this course, experienced.
Outcome: You will complete three different assignments for this field trip.
1. 100 pts. Complete the travel guide as you explore the different stops on the
trip.
2. 200 pts. Keep a travel diary that documents your reactions to what you are
learning.
3. 300 pts. For the final assignment, choose one option from a menu that requires
you to apply what you learned on the field trip in a creative way to
show that you have a better understanding and can connect better with
the memoirs and writings you will be reading.
Directions:
1. Print out the Study Guide and Rubric, Travel Diary Directions and Rubric, and the Final Assignment Menu Options and Rubrics (there are four rubrics here - one for each option). This is listed below.
2. Follow the directions on each post. Make sure to always open links in a new window so that this site is your home base so that you don't get "lost" or "lose the group" on this trip.
3. Once finished with the trip and all corresponding assignments, submit to Ms. L.
